This Privacy Policy explains how Emergency Rescue SOS (the “App”) handles information when you use it. The App is designed for emergency assistance and safety. It does not operate any server backend, does not require an account, and does not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
Information We Collect
The App may process the following information on your device:
- Location data (precise GPS coordinates, altitude, and timestamp) to build SOS, safe, or overdue messages.
- Emergency contacts you enter (name and phone number). The App does not access your system address book.
- Personal rescue information you enter (name, phone, ID, blood type, height, weight, allergies) for inclusion in SOS messages.
- App preferences (message templates, selected situations, dark mode, accuracy mode, return time, and related settings).
How We Use Information
- To generate emergency messages with your location and selected situations.
- To schedule local notifications for overdue reminders.
- To save your preferences and rescue details for future use.
Sharing and Disclosure
The App does not transmit your data to any server. Data is only shared when you explicitly choose to send an SMS or share content using the iOS share sheet. SMS is sent through Apple’s Messages interface, and the App does not access or store message delivery status beyond what the system provides to the user.
Data Storage
- Emergency contacts are stored locally in the iOS Keychain.
- App preferences and personal rescue information are stored locally in iOS UserDefaults.
No data is stored on external servers.
Permissions
- Location (When In Use): used to obtain your position for SOS messages.
- Notifications: used to deliver overdue and safety reminders.
- SMS: the App opens the system SMS composer so you can review and send messages yourself.
Your Choices
- You can disable location and notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
- You can delete contacts and rescue information within the App.
- You can remove all App data by uninstalling the App from your device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted in this document with a revised effective date.
